In an effort to clean up the living room (we like to call it the parlor) I started putting all of Haiden's toys on the coffee table. Well, this did not last long as I guess it is a great game to grab things and throw them onto the floor. Oh well, I am now motivated to get a toy box.

We all enjoyed another fun filled day at Children's (sarcasm makes it easier to deal with) while they poked around trying to figure out why he had a fever. It turned out to be a nasty virus, but because of his history with the abscess, they wanted to be sure it was not recurring.
SORRY! I know it has been a long time since we posted last. Haiden has been sick for a couple of weeks and we have been distracted by homework, unpacking and trips to the doctor. Throughout his illness, Haiden has still been having some good times. Here are a couple of shots from the last few days when he was feeling OK. I am spending some time going through photos so hopefully will have time to post some more!

Tofu makes Haiden goofy!!

Haiden's been having a great time playing with his new toys!!

Haiden's Birthday Bash!

We tried to give him some cake but he knocked it off of the plate so he could see the pretty pictures on plate. Oh well, one of the dogs will like it.

Great Grandma made a cool elephant cake for Haiden and we sat him next to it while we all sang happy birthday. It kind of freaked him out. Nothing in his 370 days of life had prepared him for a ton of people gathered around him singing his name and encouraging him to put out a small fire.

The party never really got started until Uncle Dave showed up!

Haiden's birthday party was a huge success!! Everyone had a great time and the kids had a lot of fun! Lucky for us that we were in a bigger house as 35 people showed up (adults & kids) to party and play!

We celebrated Haiden's actual birthday fairly quietly last week: just the three of us. We walked over to the new cupcake shop in Wallingford center and picked out three yummy cupcakes. Haiden destroyed his cupcake and had a great time doing so! After his bath he opened his toys (with some help from Mom) and we all played together on the living room rug.

Uncle Greg from Tokyo was in town for business but was able to have dinner with us last Thursday. He brought a super-cool T-shirt for Haiden's birthday present. It was great to see you Greg!!

"How did they know that all I wanted for my first birthday was this T-shirt?! Thanks Auntie Regi and Uncle Dave!"
