Haiden had a fun time banging on the drums at the Zoomasium when he took small breaks from watching the fish in the fish tank (and trying to bang on them, too). He calls the fish "isssshhh", in a kind-of whisper.

(he looks pretty happy in this photo but he's actually pushing away, wanting to get down and run through the field on his own; we have totally entered toddler-hood)
Minutes after reading a book about fire engines while riding in the car, we pulled up next to a real fire engine with real firemen at a gas station in Boise (no dalmation, like in the book; maybe Boise isn't as quaint as I thought). The firemen were kind enough to let Haiden try on one of their helmets, then gave him an honorary fire-fighter badge (ok, it was a gold sticker) . . .
. . . then he got to sit in the driver's seat of the fire engine! Mom tried to help him find the switch to start the sirens but they weren't quick enough.

Haiden catches up on some reading while Granddad Jerry takes a short nap in his office.

Hot days in Seattle!

Haiden & Dad met Uncle Neil at Carkeek park on Saturday. We had a blast. Haiden didn't mind being all slimy from the suntan lotion. Uncle Neil kept cracking Haiden up. He had Haiden laughing for about 3 minutes by making grass 'rain' down. A little later in the day we tried it again and he just looked at us like we were nuts.

Hey Haiden, make an Einstein face for the camera!

Haiden walks around the park with Uncle Neil. He is chewing on his snack-trap. He's a multi-tasker.
